Die Gründung des Kompetenzfeldes "Universal Design Thinking" an der HTW Berlin im Jahr 2010 folgt als zwingende Konsequenz einer seit Jahren betriebenen Forschung und Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema.
The establishment of the competence field "Universal Design Thinking" at the Berlin University in 2010 following a mandatory consequence of a research carried on for years and dealing with the issue.

Am 4. November findet die erste "Die Diagonale" Konferenz für interdisziplinäre Kreativprozesse an der HTW Berlin statt.


Die Diagonale focusses on Universal Design Thinking

Universal Design Thinking ? this will be the focussed theme for this years kick-off event of Die Diagonale conference.
The world is in progress. How can diagonal thinking help companies through innovation to adjust to changing human demands?
Interdisciplinarity is an engine for innovation and economical success is the main aspect of Universal Design Thinking. This will be shown by experts in case studies, lectures and workshops at Die Diagonale.
The conference will be hosted at the 4th of November by HTW Berlin and is initiated in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hanover and the International Design Center Berlin.
Die Diagonale is treating the importance of design for innovation processes in an entrepreneurial context and why diagonal thinking leads to better ideas and more sustainability.

UNSERE ZIELE

Weiterentwicklung von »Universal Design« Kriterien: Erforschung der Einflüsse auf Informationserkennung und Lesbarkeit im Dienstleistungsangebot von Kommunikationsdesign, der Ideenfindung, finden neuer Konzepte, Steigerung der Usability auch im Industrial Design.

Die Etablierung von »Universal Design Thinking« in der Lehre und Forschung sowie der Designpraxis.

Beratung von KMU?s zum Thema und Austausch mit der Industrie.

Durch die internationale Zusammenarbeit mit den Kooperationsuniversitäten, dem National Institut of Design in India (NID) und der German University of Cairo (GUC) sind fachlicher Austausch und Forschungsprojekte auch über die nationalen und kulturellen Grenzen hinaus möglich.

OUR AIMS BROUGHT TO THE POINT

Further development of »Universal Design« criteria: exploration of the influences on the detection of information and readability in the service offering of communication design.
Strict application of the criteria in the design process and increase of usability in new concepts.

Application of the criteria in research and development of services and products, also in industrial design. Linking of design disciplines on the development of intergenerational concepts.

Consulting of small and medium-sized companies on the development of concepts and evolution of new products and services in the area of Universal Design and an intensive exchange with the industry.

Education and training of employees in companies on the subject of Universal Design.
The establishment of »Universal Design Thinking« in teaching and research as well as in design practice for students and graduates.
